    Once you leave the quite lane and head up the drive you will be in a haven of peace, privacy and luxury. Helena and Paul Letman have restored their beautiful Rathnny House to the highest standard. It is set in 160 acres with beautiful views of the Devils' Bit and Slieve Mountains.  

    
    

    The house sleeps 12/14 persons all rooms are generous size and beautifully proportioned. Rathenny is a masterclass for Georgian buildings. 

    It has 4 double bedrooms, 1 triple bedroom, 1 twin bedroom and 4 bathrooms. Everything is comfortable sheets luxury egyptian cotton bed linen and the 3 main bedrooms all have roaring fire places which will welcome you.

    • Triple Bedroom (can also be made into a double)

    Sarah Baker has set up a cookery school in beautiful Cloughjordan House. Her aim is  to teach you to transform wholesome ingredients (grown locally often by herself) into scrumptious meals.     Rathenny Gate Lodge sits at the edge of this 160 acre walled estate of Rathenny House, a beautiful Georgian country house (c.1780). The Lodge is the ideal country cottage, charmingly refurbished by the owners (indeed it was their country home before moving to the main house). Perfect for that quiet country break or as a base from which to explore Ireland.

     Once you have shut the iron gates behind you, you will be enchanted by the setting of the Lodge with its garden and views across the open fields. The front door opens into a welcoming and well equipped kitchen- dishwasher, microwave, electric hob and oven. Through the green door into the bright and comfortable sitting room with its traditional diamond panelled window and open fireplace, as well as all mod cons - TV (inc Satellite) and DVD player -  a range of eclectic books, CDs and DVDs . Off the sitting room lies a cosy double bedroom, as well as a small utility room (washing machine, dryer and freezer) that leads into the principal bathroom. A small stair leads from the sitting room up to a comfortable attic bedroom with large double bed and study.

     

    Also just off the kitchen there is a good sized dining room with French doors opening to the backyard. There is 3^rd double bedroom and shower room.  The backyard has a little outhouse where you will find plenty of logs and peat for the fire, as well as additional garden furniture to enjoy your stay.

    Take the M7 towards Limerick. Exit MONEYGALL. Turn left onto N7 through Moneygall (direction Toomevara). After village take 2^nd right turn at Jim Duignan repairs sign. After 2miles, turn right at T junction, after 200yds pass first set of iron gates (Rathenny Lodge), follow estate wall on lhs to next iron gates, turn left up driveway to Rathenny House. Please park in the yard at the rear of the house.
